RUNWAY RUNDOWN : NUMBER NINE FALL 09

ok, liked typing that headline.
here's the other side of the men's shows.
the balance to the safety of some.
number nine was inspired by a hotel room he was in
in alaska.
musty wallpapers, stuffy sofas,
tinged.
and we go. . .
hmm.
yes.  thank you for that.
i am not going to advocate for man-veils quite yet
but note the shorts over tights, again.
the feminine touches (lace, beading)
mixed in.
maybe the linen shirts that ended the show?
but an extreme expression against the safety of other men's shows.

I loved the pieces, and the styling, in this show. I kind of wish designers wouldn't tell us their inspiration sometimes though.

good thought. fashion commentary has turned so heavily to what inspires a designer, it starts to miss the point of the shows, which, i believe, should simply inspire, provoke, and create desire . . . like good art does.

Seeing a lot of shorts over tights/leggings for men. How long do you think that will take to trickle down to the masses?

i'm guessing mid to late summer on the coasts, and then the midwest as early as november? trends seem to hit the street faster than ever these days.
